AAPCHO invites your organization to join in our commitment to building healthier Asian American and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AA and NH/PI) communities.

AAPCHO’s Board of Directors reviews membership applications twice a year during its board meetings. Board meetings occur in March and September. If your organization is interested in becoming a member of AAPCHO, please complete and submit our updated Membership Application to membership@aapcho.org.

Membership Types

Full Membership
Open to not-for-profit, 501(c)(3), community health centers whose mission includes providing direct primary care services to medically underserved populations, living in the United States, its territories, and freely associated states. Qualifying community health centers must serve a minimum of 30% Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders (AA and NH/PI) patients OR a minimum of 5,000 AA and NH/PI patients. The level of primary care services offered must be similar to FQHCs or FQHC look-alikes.

Associate Membership
Associate membership in the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations is open to not-for-profit community health centers, organizations and associations which are committed to the mission and goals of AAPCHO.

Membership Benefits Include:

Advocacy

• Participate in advocacy efforts promoting activities that improve the health status of AA and NH/PIs in the United States, its territories, and freely associated states.
• Receive legislative and other policy updates pertaining to primary care for AA and NH/PIs.
• Partner in a national effort to promote quality, comprehensive, community-driven health care services that are financially reasonable and culturally and linguistically appropriate for low-income, limited-English proficient AA and NH/PIs throughout the United States, its territories, and freely associated states.
• Build partnerships with national leaders and advocates to improve health promotion and disease prevention, and ultimately improve the health status of AA and NH/PIs in the United States, its territories, and freely associated states.
• Be informed of legislation and regulations which may affect your center’s ability to service your target population. AAPCHO works with its member organizations to ensure successful transitions into new health care environments which are rapidly and constantly changing.
• Work in collaboration with national leaders in health care service delivery for low-income, limited-English proficient AA and NH/PI populations. AAPCHO’s programs are national demonstration projects addressing the needs and concerns of its member organizations and the communities they serve. AAPCHO’s full members are given the right of first refusal in all program activities where contract activities are available.

Training & Services

• Assistance, support, and information in seeking funding sources.
• Assistance with database development, data collection, and analysis.
• Assistance with identification of data sources and literature research.
• Participate in AAPCHO-sponsored training activities at reduced rates or at no charge.

Networking

• Increase the visibility of AA and NH/PI primary health care abilities and needs across the United States, its territories, and freely associated states.
• Through the expertise found within its membership, AAPCHO will facilitate the sharing of information and expertise within its membership and between others working toward similar goals of improving the health status of AA and NH/PIs.
• Through its membership and staff, AAPCHO can facilitate linkages to federal health agencies, the National Association of Community Health Centers, State Primary Care Associations, and federal, state, and local policy makers.

• Receive AAPCHO publications and reports at no charge or at reduced rates.
• Receive legislative and policy updates and analysis.
