Hep B United, co-founded and co-chaired by the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO), is excited to announce its new Community Health Center Learning Collaborative (LC) module, “Getting to Protected.”
The “Getting to Protected” module will focus on strategies for improving hepatitis B screening and vaccination, and keeping patients engaged. This virtual LC will foster a small cohort of community-based health centers, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), and/or FQHC look-alikes serving Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, African Immigrant, and/or drug-using communities in the US and/or its territories.
The goal is for attendees to improve their capacity to implement hepatitis B education, screening, vaccination, and linkage to care programs and promote cross-sector partnerships with community-based organizations. The collaborative will have selected community health centers with model hepatitis B community engagement, prevention, and control programs, share their best practices, skills, strategies, and tested resources.
The LC consists of four 90-minute sessions, held on Wednesdays in June and July at 9:00am HT / 12:00pm PT/ 3:00pm ET.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this learning collaborative, participants will be able to:
- Increase awareness, screening, prevention, and education to reduce hepatitis B-related health disparities, including implementation of the new universal adult hepatitis B vaccination recommendations; and
- Improve linkage to care.
Intended Participants: Health centers, Primary Care Associations (PCAs), Health Center Controlled Networks (HCCN), and community organizations interested and/or invested in hepatitis B prevention and management.
Fee: No cost/free
Commitment: Accepted LC applicants are asked to attend a total of four learning sessions in June/July 2023. Sessions may include interactive activities and small breakout room discussions.
