AAPCHO and the Pacific Islander Center of Primary Care Excellence (PI-CoPCE) developed the COVID-19 Health Equity Response Network (CHERN) to proactively engage, inform, and train the healthcare workforce to prevent and control the spread of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases

PROJECT GOALS

The Health Equity Response Network aims to achieve the following long-term outcomes: 

  • Fewer healthcare-associated infections among AA, NH, and PI patients and healthcare workers
  • Fewer community-acquired infections across public and private settings in underserved AA, NH, and PI communities
  • Improved clinical outcomes among AA, NH, and PI patients with or who are at increased risk for emerging infectious diseases.
