WASHINGTON – Today, the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) released the following statement regarding Dr. Vivek Murthy swearing-in as U.S. Surgeon General.

Jeffrey B. Caballero, AAPCHO’s executive director, said:

“AAPCHO congratulates Dr. Vivek Murthy on his confirmation as U.S. Surgeon General. Dr. Murthy is a renowned expert who has demonstrated time and again his commitment to health equity for low-income and underserved communities, including Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. We look forward to working with Dr. Murthy, as he is a life-long champion for expanding health care access.”
