WASHINGTON—Today, the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) issued the following statement on President Joseph R. Biden’s executive order to protect access to reproductive health care services.

“AAPCHO applauds President Biden for taking executive action to protect patients’ reproductive rights and privacy. This executive order supports health care providers’ ability to provide accurate information and reproductive health care services to their patients, as well as protect the safety and security of all patients, providers, and clinics, including community health centers serving Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. While the President cannot unilaterally restore the constitutional right to abortion that was struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court, the steps his administration is taking will help safeguard individuals and providers in getting health care. AAPCHO continues to urge state and federal lawmakers to pass legislation to protect reproductive rights and access to health care for all.”
